What's on my needles this week - January 11, 2026

Using Joanne's Big Twist yarns - Carousel in Pomegranate and Value in Cerulean Blue.

I made a lot of progress fairly fast, because the yarn is 4 weight and the needles used are US size 8.

The stitch pattern is the same as the one I used to make my sister's Christmas scarf and hat set. (I'll link to it when I finish the blog on that.)
At present, the scarf is more than halfway finished in length.

I'm glad I didn't make it wider, because the color combination is decidedly masculine. I may save the finished piece as a gift for one of my male relatives.
They can choose the type of hat they want to go with it.
Or I may keep it. It's masculine but unisex at the same time.

At the end of the day, it's the styling of the piece that determines its perception. The clothing underneath as well as the type of hat, if any, that is worn with it. So, I will try to keep an open mind.
